At times we all have furniture, appliances, bikes or other household items that we no longer need, but don’t really want to see them go to waste. Donating to the Cheshire Furniture Reuse Forum is the ideal way to make sure those items find a new home and help your local community.
Why use the Cheshire Furniture Reuse Forum
- It’s easy – just call the project direct. Contact the furniture re-use charity nearest to your location. Putting your postcode into Google maps will help with this. You will usually be given a PM or AM collection slot to fit in with when you’ll be at home or when you can drop off the item(s). Please give the charity as much notice as possible; they have very busy collection schedules.
- Help is available – staff from the reuse charities will help take the items out of your home. Particularly helpful if you find it difficult to lift heavy items.
- Your local community benefits – your item directly helps individuals and families in Cheshire. It may be passed on to someone who has a real need; collecting, warehousing and any refurbishment will provide volunteering and training opportunities; it may raise funds for the community work the charities carry out.
- It’s environmentally friendly – reusing items saves them from going to landfill, which is both financially and environmentally costly.
